The Lord of Easter
Soo Yong Kim
We offered Jesus Christ to God as a sacrifice
On a burning brass altar of the cross,
For our sins, transgressions, iniquities and trespasses
Like a hopeless sinner to be doomed to die.
But God raised Him from the dead;
He made the Lord first fruits of resurrection.
The Lord of Life, You are a dazzling light of living hope for us,
In dark chaos and void in this world.
The Lord of Glory, You opened an overwhelming epoch- making era,
Two thousand years ago to redeem us as ransom.
When You were crucified on the cross as a sinner,
Your beloved disciples deserted you,
Even God, Your Father, forsook you in a moment of atonement,
You were totally forlorn in agonies of passion.
When Mary Magdalene found the tomb empty,
She was speechless with sorrow and grief.
When she beheld the Lord alive with praises of angels,
She was so amazed by the miracle of God,
The Lord rose from the dead.
Your victory over death rekindled Mary Magdalene with jubilation;
You quenched her thirst for eternal life
With overflowing living water;
Your glorious resurrection touched her to tears,
So deeply and profoundly.
Her ecstasy with joy and exultation of resurrection
Is now our ecstasy as well.
It is in full-bloom brilliantly in our quickened soul
And renewed spirit.
Like the fragrance of thousands of pure white lilies,
Fragrance of your Agape love and miraculous resurrection
Overfills our heart and soul with joy and peace.
Jesus Christ is risen! You are alive! We are forgiven!
Forevermore! Hallelujah!!
